   The purpose of this study is for genetic analysis of specimens removed during cerebrovascular neurosurgery to better understand pathophysiology of cerebrovascular pathology.

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical utility of a quantitative test to measure how color saturation appears in patients with diseases of the optive nerve.

4. A Study of Factors That Predispose, Promote, and Perpetuate Post-Traumatic Dizziness

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to investigate whether recent, groundbreaking discoveries about key pathophysiologic processes that drive chronic dizziness in patients without traumatic brain injury (TBI9,10) are applicable to patients with post-mTBI vestibular disability. 5. Optimizing Rehabilitation Effect With Electrical Stimulation Therapy Rehab

   Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the dentate nucleus area for improving functional status in patients with moderate to severe residual upper-extremity motor impairment due to stroke.

    

    

6. A Study to Establish a Parkinson’s Disease (PD) Cohort using the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI)

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) is a study to assess progression of clinical features, digital outcomes, and imaging, biologic and genetic markers of Parkinson’s disease (PD) progression in study participants with manifest PD, prodromal PD, and healthy controls. The overall goal of PPMI is to identify markers of disease progression for use in clinical trials of therapies to reduce progression of PD disability.

7. PLS Natural History Study

   Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to develop a natural history dataset and biorepository of early Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) and well-established PLS cases for future clinical trials.

8. A Study to Evaluate Droperidol Use in the Emergency Department and the Effect on QTc

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to study the length of the QTc interval in patients receiving the standard of care dose of intravenous droperidol for headache or migraine, nausea, pain, and indications other than agitation over 30 minutes.

9. Cognitive Advancement and Recovery in VNS-Rehabilitation (CARE)

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to investigate whether VNS therapy leads to any changes in the cognitive functions of individuals who have survived a stroke.

10. Investigating the Genetic and Phenotypic Presentation of Ataxia and Nucleotide Repeat Diseases

    The purpose of this study is to create a repository for cerebellar ataxia and nucleotide repeat diseases in order to fully investigate the genetic and phenotypic presentations of both.
