Biographical summary
Jack William McHugh, M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O., is an infectious diseases physician at Mayo Clinic with a clinical practice spanning general infectious diseases and infections in immunocompromised patients. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in infections in immunocompromised hosts, with experience caring for patients after solid organ transplantation and bone marrow transplantation, as well as patients with hematologic malignancies and other oncologic conditions.
Dr. McHugh's clinical interests also include HIV and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections. His approach emphasizes careful consideration of host immune status, microbiologic diagnosis, and individualized antimicrobial therapy. In addition to his clinical work, he is involved in research across several areas of infectious diseases, including infections in transplant recipients and other immunocompromised populations.
