Biographical summary
Allison Holgerson, Ph.D., A.B.P.P., is a board-certified clinical health psychologist with expertise in behavioral medicine and health psychology. She specializes in the psychological and behavioral factors that
influence gastrointestinal disease, digestive health, obesity, and other chronic medical conditions. She is a Senior Associate Consultant with a joint appointment in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Division of Psychology within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Holgerson earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology, with a concentration in Health Psychology, from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed predoctoral internship at
the University of Florida and advanced fellowship training in Clinical Health Psychology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
Dr. Holgerson's clinical practice involves assessment and intervention for patients presenting with disorders of gut brain interaction and other chronic digestive health concerns. Her practice emphasizes evidence-based care that supports patients throughout their treatment journey in service of improving symptom management and overall quality of life.
