Biographical summary
Ashley V. Fritz, D.O., is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Fritz's extensive military experiences as an enlisted person in the Army's Special Operations Command and as a physician assistant in Operation Iraqi Freedom and beyond has provided her with a wealth of knowledge and skills that allow her to provide the utmost care for her patients. Dr. Fritz has served over two decades in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Baghdad and South Korea. Dr. Fritz graduated from the University of Nebraska with Bachelor of Science and Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies degrees. After serving in the active Army, she transferred to the Army Reserve where she simultaneously earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Dr. Fritz has served on the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville department of Anesthesiology's Education Committee. External to Mayo, she is a has served on numerous committees in American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia (SATA) and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA).
