Young Volunteers

Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers rounding up wheelchairs

The Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers Program provides opportunities in both clinic and hospital settings. The program is open to students ages 14 to 18. This program is extremely competitive, so not all students who apply and interview will be accepted.

Minnesota law requires facilities licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) to complete applicant background studies on all individuals who have direct patient contact. This two-step process includes verification of identity, submission of a photograph and fingerprints. In addition, Mayo Clinic also runs a second background check through Verified Credentials.

If you have questions about the requirements or general questions related to volunteering, email or call 507-255-9912.
