Becoming a Volunteer
To apply to the adult volunteer program at Mayo Clinic's campuses in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, follow the application process below.
For high school students between the ages of 15 and 18, Mayo Clinic offers the High School Volunteer Summer Program.
For college students, including undergraduate, graduate and continuing education students who are 18 or older, Mayo Clinic offers the College Summer Volunteer Program.
Adult volunteer application process
Complete and submit the online volunteer application form. After you submit the application, Mayo Clinic Volunteer Services will contact you to schedule an interview.
The application must be completed by you and received by Volunteer Services prior to the dates for the 2016 orientation sessions:

- Attend a four-hour general orientation.
- Pass the background check.
- Complete a two-step tuberculosis (TB) skin test (no charge). A positive result may require additional bloodwork.
- Complete the volunteer training program.
Once you've completed the application and interview process, you'll be assigned to one four-hour shift a week, on the same day and at the same time each week.
