College volunteers are between the ages of 18 and 25 and currently enrolled in a college or university. A commitment of two shifts a week for the entire semester is required.
The college volunteer positions are extremely competitive, so not all students who apply and interview will be accepted. Students invited to participate will be placed in service areas based on our program needs.

Mayo Clinic Volunteer Programs will contact you after your application is reviewed. If selected, you will complete an interview with a volunteer coordinator.
Note: Incomplete applications, as well as applications submitted outside of the above time frames, are not accepted.
Additional requirements before volunteering include:
- Passing a background check
- Completing an immunization review
- Attending new volunteer orientation
- Completing the volunteer training program
