Hi, my name is Jeff Hassebrock, and I'm one of the orthopedic surgeons here at Mayo Clinic, Arizona. My department is Orthopedic Sports Shoulder and Elbow Surgery with an emphasis in the upper extremity care. My goal is really simple. I just want to help reduce your pain, get you back to a prior level of function, and return you to the things that matter the most to you. Every day I care for patients with a variety of shoulder and elbow injuries: rotator cuff issues, elbow issues, shoulder arthritis, instability, shoulder instability, whether it's impacting your ability to lift your kids, do your work, or play in the sport that you want.
My goal is simple. I wanna understand you, understand your needs, give you a treatment plan that satisfies those, and talk about a timeline that works for you as well. In addition to my clinical work, I'm also actively involved in research and education. I primarily focus on shoulder arthritis, implant design, new iterations, and innovative arthroscopic techniques, particularly for shoulder instability, where I have several patents pending. I'm also an assistant professor of orthopedics here at Mayo Clinic, which allows me to teach residents and fellows. For me, teaching's not just an academic duty, it allows me to stay up to date with the most current evidence and the most safe and effective techniques for treating patients. When you come to see me, you can expect a thoughtful and collaborative approach. I want you to feel listened to, informed, and actively involved in the decisions about your care. Sometimes right approach is physical therapy, sometimes it's injections, sometimes it's activity modification. Occasionally, it's minimally invasive techniques like arthroscopic procedures, and sometimes it's complex reconstructive cases like arthroplasty. No matter what we choose, my priority is to help you recover safely and return to the activities and lifestyle that you choose. It's an honor to care for our patients here at Mayo Clinic, and I am committed to giving you compassionate, evidence-based, individualized care. I look forward to meeting you and helping you back to what matters most.
