Biographical summary
Dr. Brian M. Dougan is a consultant and currently serves as the chair of Executive Medicine in the Department of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is also the co-director of longevity care for the Mayo Clinic partnership with Three Forks Ranch in Wyoming.
Dr. Dougan has been part of the Mayo Clinic staff since 2001 and holds the academic rank of assistant professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
In addition to receiving consistently high patient satisfaction rating, he has received multiple awards at Mayo Clinic, including the James J. Lipsky Distinguished Service Award in 2018, the General Internal Medicine Innovator of the Year Award in 2022, and the General Internal Medicine Catalyst Award in 2024.
Dr. Dougan earned his B.A. from Luther College, attended medical school at the University of Minnesota, and completed his internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Following his residency, he served as an active-duty Internal Medicine physician at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Commendation Medal.
