Joseph M. Bestic, M.D.

Joseph Michael Bestic, M.D., is a consultant in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Dr. Bestic specializes in advanced musculoskeletal imaging and interventional procedures, providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and image-guided treatment for patients with complex orthopedic and oncologic conditions. He collaborates closely with orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, oncology, and rheumatology teams to optimize patient care.

As Program Director for the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Florida, Dr. Bestic is committed to education and mentorship of future radiologists. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and has particular academic interests in imaging and treatment of sports related injuries, arthroplasty imaging, musculoskeletal tumor characterization, advanced CT and MR applications, and procedure-based diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Bestic has contributed extensively to research and education in musculoskeletal radiology, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on tumor imaging, orthopedic hardware evaluation, and imaging techniques for complex musculoskeletal conditions. He has presented nationally and internationally and serves as an author and chair for American College of Radiology Continuous Professional Improvement program. His academic interests include improving diagnostic accuracy, advancing interventional techniques, and fostering collaborative care.
