Private travel vaccinations in London

Safe travel begins long before you leave home. If you're planning a trip overseas, make one of your first stops a consultation at Mayo Clinic Healthcare. Our nurse-led travel vaccination service is overseen by a private GP who specialises in travel medicine.

    We provide:

    • Travel health recommendations.
    • Vaccinations (administered by our nurses).
    • Prescriptions.
    • Referral to another expert for complex medical conditions, if needed.

    Travel health recommendations

Our doctors can provide a country-by-country assessment of your travel destinations, detailing potential health risks and the precautions you should take before and during your trip. This ensures you are fully informed about local health concerns, environmental factors, and any region-specific illnesses that may affect your travel plans.

We can also outline any healthcare resources that are available in your destination and ensure you receive the vaccines most appropriate for your itinerary and activities.

We will also review your medical history and vaccination records to help prevent illness. By understanding your current health status, our doctors can recommend the most appropriate vaccines and preventive measures tailored specifically to you.

Our team will sit down and explain how long different travel vaccines last, which can range from a few years to a lifetime. This helps you understand what protection you already have and whether any more boosters are needed before you travel.

Our doctors will assist with planning your travel medications and prescriptions, making sure you have enough supplies and the correct documentation. This is especially important when travelling with ongoing medical needs.

Our team also provide guidance for those who are high-risk travellers and need additional precautions.

    Our travel & immunisation services

Our travel doctors are extremely knowledgeable about current health risks worldwide and will help you to understand safe and healthy travel by offering counseling, recommendations, vaccinations, prescriptions and, if needed, a referral to another expert for complex medical conditions.

    • It’s important to have your travel consultation at least six weeks before your travel date. This is so that the vaccines administered by our nurses can be effective before you travel. For instance, some immunisation services require a month-long timeline. It is recommended that you book your travel vaccination appointment well in advance, 8 to 12 weeks prior to your travel.

    • Our private GPs provide oversight and advice on complex medical needs, while our nurses carry out the vaccinations. Therefore, you will not need a precursory referral.

    • At or preferably before the appointment, you will want to provide copies of all available immunisation records. To get the most out of your consultation, be prepared to inform your doctor of the following:

      • All countries being visited
      • Dates and duration of travel
      • Any unusual circumstances
    • It is important that you are well on the day of your appointment. If you are sick, we reserve the right to postpone or decline your private travel vaccinations or provide you with justification for not being able to administer certain vaccines.
