Executive Health Cardiovascular Assessment

Mayo Clinic Healthcare’s Executive Health Assessment includes a dedicated pathway for heart conditions – our Executive Health Cardiovascular Assessment.

Your assessment starts with an initial consultation. You’ll then work closely with a cardiologist throughout the screening, as they guide the tests you may need and explain your results.

Our private heart health check is a comprehensive assessment that helps your care team understand your risk and recommends clear next steps you can take moving forward.

    • At Mayo Clinic Healthcare, your initial consultation – and the successive tests with our cardiologists – form the pathway for us to ensure good heart health.

Based on your age and your individual cardiovascular risk, the following investigations may form part of your executive health check:

      • A consultation with a preventative cardiologist, to review any family risk or medical history of cardiac issues
      •  Specialised cardiac blood tests to assess your cholesterol levels and signs of inflammation
      • An electrocardiogram (ECG), which records the electrical activity of your heart and identifies any abnormal rhythms
      • An echocardiogram to produce real-time images of your heart’s structure and function
      • 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
      • Abdominal aorta ultrasound to assess aortic health
      • Doppler ultrasound of both carotid arteries
      • CT coronary angiography

These advanced imaging tests help detect coronary issues before symptoms occur.

    • Your executive health assessment gives in-depth coverage for various heart conditions, including:

      • Coronary artery disease - blockages of the arteries can lead to heart attacks
      • Heart rhythm disorders - irregular heartbeats
      • Heart failure - reduced pumping function
      • Structural and valve issues - conditions that affect the muscles of the heart
      • Congenital heart conditions - abnormalities present from birth
    • Once your executive health cardiovascular review is complete - including input from a preventative cardiologist - your assessment concludes with a final review.

Overseen by an expert from our Executive Health plan, your specialist will explain your results, answer any questions you may have, and agree a personalised preventative care plan.

    • Your personalised plan will be tailored to your lifestyle, health history, and your long-term goals.

      It may include:

      • Physical activity counselling, including exercise training
      • Nutritional guidance, including weight-loss goals and plans
      • Preventative medications
      • Smoking cessation counselling
      • Stress management training
    • If further specialist input is required, our team can coordinate care with our multidisciplinary team of over 7,000 specialists both in the UK and the U.S.

Following your private heart health check, you can choose to continue your ongoing medical care through our Private GP services.
