Leave the details to us

Your Mayo Clinic Representative Offices' goal is to take the worry and uncertainty out of traveling internationally for medical care. Your representative attends to the details so you can concentrate on what's most important: your health.

Mayo Clinic representatives take the time necessary to understand your circumstances, such as where you have received care, what your goals for visiting Mayo Clinic are and who is traveling with you. After getting to know you, they customize a plan based on your needs and serve as your single point of contact throughout your relationship with Mayo Clinic.

Your representative can help you:

Requesting an appointment at Mayo Clinic. A number of documents are needed before requesting an appointment at Mayo Clinic. Your representative can help you assemble everything you need.

Mayo Clinic locations. Mayo Clinic has three major locations in the United States: Jacksonville, Florida; Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; and Rochester, Minnesota. Your representative can help you determine which location best fits your needs, both medically and personally.

Become acquainted with Mayo Clinic. Each Mayo Clinic campus is unique, as is the community that surrounds each one. Your representative can help you understand what to expect in terms of checking into the clinic, distances between appointments, eating and entertainment options between appointments, local travel options, and climate.
Billing and expenses. Mayo Clinic may require a deposit for patients traveling internationally. Your representative can assist with requesting an estimate from the Mayo Clinic International Finance team in the U.S. and serve as your liaison to Patient Account Services.

Insurance options. Mayo Clinic accepts a wide variety of insurance. Your representative can discuss what is covered under your policy.
Travel and lodging arrangements. Your representative can make recommendations on which airport to fly into and on lodging accommodations that best meet your needs.

Travel and care timelines. In most cases, international patients who come to Mayo Clinic can receive all their tests in one visit and leave with a diagnosis and treatment plan in place. Your representative can estimate how many days you may need to be in the U.S.

The visa process. A travel visa is usually required to travel to the U.S. for medical care, which can be a complex process. Your representative can help you understand the process and provide an itinerary and letter stating your reason for travel. Note: Beyond the itinerary and letter, Mayo Clinic cannot play a role in the visa application.
Interpreters in the U.S. Because clear communication between patients and their healthcare teams can improve patient outcomes, Mayo Clinic offers interpreters for 200-plus languages at no charge.

Medical record translation. Any medical records you wish to share before your appointment must be in English. Your representative can help you access resources near you to translate your records.
Follow-ups. After you visit Mayo Clinic, your representative will continue to be your single point of contact. Your representative can provide access to medical reports, billing and more.

Future visits. If a follow-up appointment is necessary, or if you or a loved one wish to travel to Mayo Clinic for another evaluation, your representative can coordinate travel requirements and medical records.
