Xia Zhou, M.B., Ph.D., is a board-certified nephrologist in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of
Medicine and Science.
Dr. Zhou received her medical degree from Wuhan University in China. She completed her internal medicine residency at AdventHealth Orlando, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
Minnesota. She joined the Mayo Clinic faculty in 2024.
Clinically, Dr. Zhou specializes in the evaluation and management of cystic and inherited kidney diseases, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease, with a multidisciplinary approach focused on slowing disease
progression and improving long-term outcomes. As a physician-scientist, her research is dedicated to elucidating disease mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic strategies for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Dr. Zhou has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications.
