Biographical summary
Amos Lal, M.B.B.S., M.S., F.A.C.P., F.C.C.P., is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He provides advanced care for critically ill patients, including those requiring complex organ support and tele-critical care services.
Dr. Lal's research focuses on advancing digital medicine and the application of clinical informatics in critical care, with a particular emphasis on sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and the utilization of digital twin and artificial intelligence models to enhance patient outcomes. He has served as principal and co-investigator on multiple clinical trials and translational studies, including work on novel therapeutics, machine learning applications, and virtual simulation in intensive care. He has led and contributed to federally funded and industry-sponsored studies on sepsis management and ARDS therapeutics. His contributions to the Society of Critical Care Medicine's VIRUS registry have informed global understanding of COVID-19 outcomes.
An active educator and mentor supported by Mayo Clinic endowment funding, Dr. Lal contributes to curriculum development in critical care and mechanical ventilation training, and he frequently lectures nationally and internationally on innovation in intensive care delivery. His work integrates clinical expertise, research, and technology to transform the practice of critical care. Dr. Lal is deeply engaged in academic publishing and peer review.
