Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  4. frequent urge to urinate
  5. lower back or side pain

Incidence not known

  1. Decrease in the frequency of urination
  2. decrease in urine volume
  3. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  4. itching, skin rash, encrusted, scaly and oozing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. chills
  3. constipation
  4. cough or cough producing mucus
  5. diarrhea
  6. difficulty in breathing
  7. dry mouth
  8. ear congestion
  9. headache
  10. feeling of warmth
  11. fever
  12. loss of voice
  13. muscle aches
  14. nausea
  15. redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, the upper chest
  16. sneezing
  17. sore throat
  18. stuffy or runny nose
  19. tightness in the chest
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
