Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Cloudy urine
  2. crawling or tingling sensation of the skin
  3. diarrhea
  4. faintness, especially after missing meals
  5. headache
  6. increased skin color
  7. irritability
  8. itching
  9. joint pain
  10. loss of appetite
  11. nausea
  12. numbness or weakness in arms, hands, legs, or feet
  13. skin rash
  14. stinging sensation on skin
  15. swelling on skin
  16. tenderness of the palms and the soles
  17. tire easily
  18. vomiting

Less common

  1. Changes in or loss of vision
  2. extreme tiredness or weakness
  3. increased sensitivity of eyes to light
  4. painful tender glands in the neck, armpits, or groin
  5. swelling around eyes
  6. ulcers or sores in mouth
  7. watery eyes

Rare

  1. Cold and clammy skin
  2. convulsions
  3. decreased blood pressure
  4. difficulty in breathing
  5. fever and sore throat
  6. fever with or without chills
  7. increased heartbeat
  8. loss of consciousness
  9. pale skin
  10. pinpoint red spots on skin
  11. red, thickened, or scaly skin
  12. swelling and/or tenderness in upper abdominal or stomach area
  13. swollen and/or painful glands
  14. unusual bleeding or bruising
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness
  16. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abdominal pain
  2. fever
  3. general feeling of discomfort
  4. metallic taste

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
