Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Difficulty in moving
  2. fever
  3. headache
  4. joint pain or swelling
  5. muscle aches, cramping, pains, or stiffness
  6. nausea
  7. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stool
  5. bloody nose
  6. blue or pale skin
  7. blurred vision
  8. chest pain or discomfort
  9. chills
  10. confusion
  11. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  12. cough
  13. dizziness or lightheadedness
  14. fainting
  15. fast heartbeat
  16. hearing loss
  17. heavier menstrual periods
  18. hives or welts, itching, skin rash
  19. inability to move the arms and legs
  20. numbness, weakness, or tingling in the arms or legs
  21. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  22. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  23. redness of the skin
  24. seizures
  25. slurred speech
  26. stomach pain
  27. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  28. sudden loss of coordination
  29. trouble breathing
  30. unusual bleeding or bruising
  31. vision changes
  32. vomiting blood

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
