Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. dizziness
  3. headache
  4. nervousness
  5. pounding in the ears
  6. slow or fast heartbeat
  7. twitching, twisting, uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs

Less common

  1. Chills
  2. cold sweats
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from lying or sitting position

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. confusion
  3. diarrhea
  4. feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior
  5. feeling that others can hear your thoughts
  6. feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there
  7. fever
  8. overactive reflexes
  9. poor coordination
  10. restlessness
  11. severe mood or mental changes
  12. shivering
  13. sweating
  14. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  15. trembling or shaking
  16. trouble breathing
  17. unusual behavior

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Nausea

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. cough
  4. heartburn
  5. indigestion
  6. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  7. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Skin rash
  2. swelling of the gums and tongue
