Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. body aches or pain
  4. chest pain or tightness
  5. congestion
  6. cough or hoarseness
  7. crying
  8. depersonalization
  9. diarrhea
  10. difficult or labored breathing
  11. discouragement
  12. dry mouth
  13. dryness of the throat
  14. dysphoria
  15. euphoria
  16. feeling sad or empty
  17. feeling unusually cold
  18. fever or chills
  19. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  20. headache
  21. irregular heartbeats
  22. irritability
  23. joint pain
  24. lack of appetite
  25. loss of interest or pleasure
  26. lower back or side pain
  27. mental depression
  28. muscle aches and pains
  29. nausea
  30. nervousness
  31. painful or difficult urination
  32. pale skin
  33. paranoia
  34. poor concentration
  35. quick to react or overreact emotionally
  36. rapidly changing moods
  37. restlessness
  38. runny nose
  39. shaking
  40. shivering
  41. sleeplessness
  42. sore throat
  43. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  44. sweating
  45. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  46. trouble breathing
  47. trouble with concentrating
  48. trouble with sleeping
  49. trouble with swallowing
  50. unable to sleep
  51. upper abdominal or stomach pain
  52. unusual bleeding or bruising
  53. unusual tiredness or weakness
  54. voice changes
  55. vomiting

Less common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blood in the urine or stools
  3. constipation
  4. depressed mood
  5. dry skin and hair
  6. feeling cold
  7. hair loss
  8. husky voice
  9. muscle cramps and stiffness
  10. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  11. right upper abdominal or stomach fullness
  12. slowed heartbeat
  13. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, flaking, or peeling of the skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. being forgetful
  3. belching
  4. blurred vision
  5. bone pain
  6. change in taste or bad, unusual, or unpleasant (after) taste
  7. cracked, scaly skin
  8. crusting, irritation, itching, or reddening of the skin
  9. difficulty with moving
  10. dizziness or lightheadedness
  11. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  12. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  13. heartburn
  14. indigestion
  15. lack or loss of strength
  16. menstrual changes
  17. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  18. rash
  19. sensation of spinning
  20. sneezing
  21. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  22. stuffy nose
  23. swelling
  24. swollen joints
  25. weight loss

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  3. discharge, excessive tearing
  4. feeling of warmth
  5. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  6. redness, pain, swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  7. skin rash, encrusted, scaly, and oozing

Incidence not known

  1. Change in hearing
  2. loss of hearing
