Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Aggression or anger
  2. anxiety
  3. clumsiness or unsteadiness
  4. deep or fast breathing with dizziness
  5. dry mouth
  6. irregular heartbeat
  7. irritability
  8. numbness of the feet, hands, and around the mouth
  9. restlessness
  10. shakiness
  11. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  12. trouble sleeping
  13. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  14. unsteady walk
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Abnormal or decreased touch sensation
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings

Incidence not known

  1. Changes in behavior
  2. depression
  3. thoughts of killing oneself

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Dizziness or lightheadedness
  2. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  3. headache
  4. nausea
  5. sensation of spinning
  6. stomach pain

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  3. blurred vision
  4. body aches or pain
  5. bone pain
  6. changes in speech patterns
  7. chills
  8. confusion
  9. cough
  10. decreased urine output
  11. difficulty having a bowel movement
  12. difficulty with moving
  13. double vision
  14. ear congestion
  15. fast or irregular heartbeat
  16. fever
  17. increased thirst
  18. lack or loss of strength
  19. loss of voice
  20. muscle pain, cramps, or stiffness
  21. nasal congestion
  22. pain in the arms, joints, or legs
  23. runny nose
  24. slurred speech
  25. sneezing
  26. sore throat
  27. trouble remembering
  28. trouble with speaking
  29. unusual weight gain or loss
  30. unusually deep sleep
  31. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
