Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  2. pain, redness, or burning at the injection site
  3. skin rash, hives, redness, or itching
  4. trouble breathing

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. blurred vision
  4. chills
  5. cold, clammy skin
  6. confusion
  7. coughing
  8. dark-colored urine
  9. diarrhea
  10. decreased or irregular heartbeat
  11. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  12. dizziness or fainting
  13. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying position
  14. fast, pounding, slow, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  15. fast, weak pulse
  16. fever
  17. fixed position of the eye
  18. headache
  19. heart stops
  20. hives or welts
  21. hoarseness
  22. inability to move the eyes
  23. increased blinking or spasms of the eyelid
  24. joint or muscle pain
  25. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  26. light-colored stools
  27. lightheadedness
  28. no breathing
  29. no pulse or blood pressure
  30. noisy breathing
  31. overactive reflexes
  32. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  33. poor coordination
  34. red irritated eyes
  35. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  36. restlessness
  37. shivering
  38. slow or irregular breathing
  39. sore throat
  40. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  41. sticking out of the tongue
  42. stomach pain or swelling
  43. sweating
  44. swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
  45. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  46. trembling or shaking
  47. trouble with speaking or swallowing
  48. twitching
  49. unconscious
  50. uncontrolled twisting movements of the neck, trunk, arms, or legs
  51. unusual facial expressions
  52. unusual tiredness or weakness
  53. vomiting
  54. weakness of the arms and legs
  55. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. headache

Less common

  1. Burning, tingling, or prickling sensations
  2. drowsiness
  3. dryness of the mouth
  4. feeling cold
  5. itching
  6. stomach cramps

Incidence not known

  1. Hiccups
