Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain, sudden and severe
  2. bigger, dilated, or enlarged pupils (black part of eye)
  3. blurred vision
  4. bone pain
  5. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  6. change in color vision
  7. chest tightness
  8. confusion
  9. decrease in frequency of urination
  10. decrease in urine volume
  11. difficulty in passing urine
  12. difficulty seeing at night
  13. dizziness
  14. drowsiness
  15. fever
  16. flushing
  17. headache
  18. increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  19. muscle weakness, sudden and progressing
  20. nausea and vomiting
  21. nervousness
  22. painful urination
  23. pounding in the ears
  24. seizures
  25. slow or fast heartbeat
  26. stomach pain
  27. swelling
  28. trouble breathing
  29. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  30. unusual tiredness or weakness
  31. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Less common

  1. Constipation
  2. diarrhea

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. chills
  3. cold sweats
  4. confusion
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from lying or sitting position
  6. fast heartbeat

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
  2. cough
  3. decreased appetite
  4. fast heartbeat
  5. flushing, redness of the skin
  6. increased sweating
  7. itching
  8. joint or muscle pain
  9. red, irritated eyes
  10. runny nose
  11. sore throat
  12. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  13. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness or feeling of sluggishness
  14. unusually warm skin

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
