Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. bluish color of fingernails, lips, skin, palms, or nail beds
  3. chest pain or tightness
  4. cough
  5. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  6. feeling of warmth
  7. increased sweating
  8. noisy breathing
  9. not breathing
  10. pale skin
  11. redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest
  12. swelling in the legs and ankles
  13. trouble breathing

Rare

  1. Changes in skin color, pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  2. chest discomfort
  3. dizziness
  4. fainting
  5. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  6. lightheadedness
  7. pounding or rapid pulse
  8. stopping of the heart
  9. unconsciousness

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. blue-green to black skin discoloration
  4. bruising
  5. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles" , or tingling feelings
  6. chills
  7. collection of blood under the skin
  8. constipation
  9. deep, dark purple bruise
  10. depressed mood
  11. diarrhea
  12. dry mouth
  13. dry skin and hair
  14. feeling cold
  15. hair loss
  16. hoarseness or husky voice
  17. itching
  18. joint or muscle pain
  19. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  20. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  21. muscle cramps and stiffness
  22. nervousness
  23. painful or difficult urination
  24. partial or slight paralysis
  25. problems with speech or speaking
  26. red irritated eyes
  27. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  28. seizures
  29. sensitivity to heat
  30. sneezing
  31. sore throat
  32. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  33. sweating
  34. swollen glands
  35. trouble sleeping
  36. unusual bleeding or bruising
  37. unusual tiredness or weakness
  38. weight gain
  39. weight loss
