Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

  1. Changes in facial skin color
  2. fast or irregular breathing
  3. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes
  4. shortness of breath, troubled breathing, tightness in chest, and/or wheezing
  5. skin rash, hives, and/or itching

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bluish coloring (especially of the hands and feet)
  2. convulsions
  3. dizziness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  4. increased heart rate
  5. large blue or purplish patches in the skin (at places of injection)
  6. nausea or vomiting
  7. pains in chest, groin, or legs (especially calves)
  8. persistent bleeding from puncture sites, gums, or inner linings of the nose and/or mouth, or blood in the stool or urine
  9. severe pain or pressure in the chest and/or the neck, back, or left arm
  10. severe, sudden headache
  11. shortness of breath or fast breathing
  12. sudden loss of coordination
  13. sudden and unexplained slurred speech, vision changes, and/or weakness or numbness in arm or leg

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Burning or stinging at place of injection
  2. changes in blood pressure or pulse rate
  3. chills
  4. drowsiness
  5. fever
  6. headache
  7. nausea or vomiting
  8. redness of face
  9. shortness of breath

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
