Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. chills or fever
  3. cold or flu-like symptoms
  4. difficulty breathing
  5. headache
  6. itching of the vagina or genital area
  7. non-menstrual vaginal bleeding
  8. pain during sexual intercourse
  9. thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
  10. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. breast tenderness
  3. change in vaginal discharge
  4. change in vision
  5. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  6. clay-colored stools
  7. clear or bloody discharge from the nipple
  8. confusion
  9. dark urine
  10. difficulty speaking
  11. difficulty swallowing
  12. dizziness or lightheadedness
  13. double vision
  14. fainting
  15. fast heartbeat
  16. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  17. inability to speak
  18. joint or muscle pain
  19. loss of appetite
  20. lump in the breast or under the arm
  21. nausea and vomiting
  22. noisy breathing
  23. pain in the ankles or knees
  24. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  25. pain or feeling of pressure in the pelvis
  26. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  27. painful, red lumps under the skin, mostly on the legs
  28. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  29. problems with memory or speech
  30. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  31. red, irritated eyes
  32. redness or swelling of the breast
  33. skin rash, hives, or itching
  34. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  35. stomach pain
  36. sweating
  37. trouble breathing
  38. trouble recognizing objects
  39. trouble thinking and planning
  40. trouble walking
  41. unexpected or excess milk flow from the breasts

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. cramps
  3. crying
  4. euphoria
  5. mental depression
  6. paranoia
  7. quick to react or overreact emotionally
  8. rapidly changing moods
  9. trouble sleeping
  10. weakness
  11. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Changes in appetite
  2. changes in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  3. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  4. increased hair growth, especially on the face
  5. patchy brown or dark brown discoloration of the skin
  6. trouble wearing contact lenses
