Biographical summary
Dr. Teven is a board-certified plastic surgeon (American Board of Plastic Surgery) whose chief clinical expertise involves reconstructive microsurgery and complex reconstruction. He performs reconstructive surgery for defects across the body due to cancer, trauma, burn, and congenital etiologies. He offers both implant-based and autologous (e.g., DIEP, TRAM, PAP, SGAP) breast reconstruction and also performs physiologic and excisional procedures for the surgical treatment of lymphedema. Dr. Teven additionally performs aesthetic surgery to the face, breasts, and body and offers nonsurgical rejuvenation in the forms of filler injection and Botox.
Dr. Teven's research interests include medical and surgical ethics; clinical outcomes involving breast reconstruction, lymphedema, and the reconstruction of complex defects; patient-reported outcomes; healthcare policy and cost analyses; ergonomics in the operating room; and the use of emerging technologies such as three-dimensional printing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Teven also has a strong interest in resident and medical student training and education.
