Biographical summary
Prasad Krishnan M.D., is an Assistant Professor and Staff Surgeon in the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He completed his residency training in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India (1991). He continued his training in advanced cardiovascular surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery and cardiopulmonary transplantation at Greenlane hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH (1991-96). He returned to India in 1997 and was the Chief Cardiac surgeon at Apollo and Manipal Hospitals in Sri Lanka and India, with a high volume pediatric and adult cardiac surgical practice. He returned to Mayo Clinic in 2010 bringing with him nearly 3 decades of experience in pediatric and adult cardiac surgery. He has specific expertise with neonatal and infant cardiac surgery, surgery for congenital heart disease, valve repair and replacement, septal myectomy, coronary artery bypass grafting and heart transplantation.
