Mayo Clinic offers care in Arizona at our Phoenix and Scottsdale campuses as well as Family Medicine and Sports Medicine sites. Virtual visits and remote care also are available in some specialty areas.

If you are having respiratory symptoms or symptoms of COVID-19, notify your clinical team so that we can reschedule your appointments to protect the health of other patients, visitors and Mayo staff. Thank you for protecting those with weakened immune systems.

Optional masking in most patient areas

As of Monday, April 10, masking is optional for patients, visitors and staff in most patient care areas.

    • Mayo Clinic has experienced consistently low rates of hospitalizations, mortality and community transmission levels.
    • Masking is still required in settings where patients are at the greatest risk.
    • High-risk immunocompromised patients will be notified to wear a mask while they are at Mayo Clinic.
    • This decision was made with careful consideration of our patients' needs and safety, and we remain dedicated to providing the highest quality of care possible.

    Visitor information

Visitors are important to patient care and healing and are welcome across Mayo Clinic locations.

    Attending appointments

Patients may bring visitors to their appointments, and visitors are welcome in most care areas. However, care teams may limit the number of visitors permitted in certain treatment areas due to room size, safety or patient care needs.

Care teams may ask visitors to leave a patient room temporarily to complete a procedure or test. When visitors are not in a room with a patient, they are welcome to wait in common areas, including lobbies, unit waiting areas and cafeterias.

If children under the age of 16 are visiting, an adult must accompany them at all times.

    Hospital and Emergency Department care

Visitors are welcome in Mayo Clinic Hospital, the Emergency Department and most care areas. Due to room size or patient care needs, care teams may limit the number of visitors permitted in a patient's room.
