Donor-Specific Cell Free DNA Monitoring of Thoracic Allografts Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to determine if DNA originating from the transplanted heart or lung can be detected in the blood and used to monitor for rejection. The Relationship Between Critical Care Physicians' Characteristics and Their Clinical Practice Patterns Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to identify the magnitude of variation among intensivists in use of diagnostic testing and to determine whether variation in diagnostic test ordering patterns among intensivists attributables to their personal characteristics, or to factors in the clinical environment. A Study to Collect Thoracic Specimens to Develop a Thoracic Specimen Registry Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The primary objective of this proposal is to develop a Thoracic Specimen Registry at Mayo Clinic. The purpose of the registry will be to support ongoing research in the etiology, early diagnosis, clinical management, and prognosis of lung cancer and other cancers and diseases of the thorax by developing a complete repository of specimens from patients with thoracic disease including but not limited to suspected lung cancer, mediastinal and pleural tumors and from patients at a very high risk of developing other thoracic cancers or other thoracic diseases. A Study to Evaluate Lamprene (Clofazimine) to Treat Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) Infections Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate Lamprene (Clofazimine) to treat non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections. A Study to Evaluate the Use of a Smartphone App for Stroke Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of a smartphone app for stroke patients with obstructive sleep apnea in order to better use their positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy. Assessment of Sleep Disorder Breathing Risk in Patients with Scleroderma Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to retrospectively review the charts of 200 patients for whom overnight oximetry data, pulmonary function tests, as well as echocardiographic data have been obtained as part of routine clinical assessment. In so doing, the hope is to assess the risk of sleep disorder breathing, as evidenced by the oxygen desaturation index (ODI) on overnight oximetry assessment. A Multimodal Monitoring (MMM) Computer to Detect Physiologic Trends in Data in Neurointensive Care Unit Patients Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to identify important physiologic trends in bedside ICU data such as cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), intracranial pressure (ICP) using a bedside “Multimodal monitoring” (MMM) computer which utilizes ICM+ Cambridge software. Post Approval Study for Treatment of Drug-resistant Adult Primary FSGS Using the LIPOSORBER® LA-15 System Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the probable benefit and safety of the LIPOSORBER® LA-15 System for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with nephrotic syndrome associated with primary focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, when the standard treatment options, including corticosteroid and/or calcineurin inhibitors treatments, have been unsuccessful or not well tolerated, and the patient has a GFR ≥ 45 ml/min/1.73m2, or the patient is post renal transplantation. Treatment for FSGS is considered unsuccessful if the patient is unresponsive to standard therapy (e.g., at least 8 weeks of corticosteroids) and fails to achieve complete or partial remission. A standard treatment is considered not well tolerated if the patient experiences severe side effects without providing an acceptable level of clinical benefit. A Prospective Registry for Patients with REM Sleep Behavior Disorder and Polysomnographic REM Sleep without Atonia and Controls Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to follow patients with REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) over time and learn which types of RBD patients may be at risk of developing other diseases.
