   The purpose of this study is to develop an evidenced-based guideline for pediatric opioid prescribing guideline from the emergency department for long bone fractures to more closely tailor pain management to abuse potential.

   The goal of this study is to determine whether significant differences exist in the prevalence of associated cardiac anomalies between right/left and right / non-coronary cusp fusion in bicuspid aortic valve.

3. A Study to Collect Ovarian Tissue from Girls Undergoing Fertility-preserving Cryopreservation

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to study the handling of ovarian tissue, cryopreservation technology, and oocyte maturation for female pediatric cancer patients and other female patients whose future fertility will be affected due to a disease or treatment.

4. Accelerated vs Standard BEP Chemotherapy for Patients With Intermediate and Poor-risk Metastatic Germ Cell Tumours

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine whether accelerated BEP chemotherapy is more effective than standard BEP chemotherapy in males with intermediate and poor-risk metastatic germ cell tumours.

5. A Study to Evaluate a New Predictive Model for the Progression of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to characterize the risk of scoliosis progression based on local three-dimensional vertebral and pelvic measurements present on initial evaluation. The proposed new study aims at refining and testing the external validity of this model in a larger cohort. The next step towards using the new model in the clinical setting is to redesign the model and to externally validate the model by measuring the agreement between the new method and the traditional Cobb angle at maturity in a larger multicenter study.  The ultimate goal of this research project will be to validate this new predictive model and finally transfer this new predictive tool in the hands of clinicians treating AIS.

    

6. Monogenic Kidney Stone - Genetic Testing

   Rochester, Minn.

   90 genes related to Monogenic Stone Disease will be determined via DNA analysis by the Mayo Rare Kidney Stone Consortium (RKSC) research staff.

7. Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Treatment Outcomes for Chronic Noncancer Pain

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of the study is to learn more about adolescent and young adults' experience with chronic pain. In particular, we are studying factors which lead to pain-associated disability and factors which predict decreased disability during and after participation in a three-week intensive treatment program. In addition to gathering information from the young people with chronic pain, parents are also asked to give their perspective.

    

8. A Study to Establish a Retinoblastoma Patient Clinical Database and Tissue Repository

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to systematically and prospectively record accurate and complete data regarding the clinical presentation, treatment, and outcomes of patients diagnosed with RB; collect, bank, preserve, and analyze biomaterials from patients with RB, and to correlate phenotypic data with findings from human biomaterials.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of NBI-921352 when administered for up to 106 weeks. Also, to investigate the effect of NBI-921352 on long-term seizure control.

10. A Study to Evaluate the Spectrum of Healthy Pediatric Inflammatory Responses to Vaccinations

    Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to understand the role of systemic inflammation in the genesis of seizures in susceptible children by gaining a clearer understanding of the spectrum of inflammatory responses that occur in healthy children post-vaccinations.
