Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. bloody or black, tarry stools
  3. body aches or pain
  4. burning, tingling, numbness, or pain in the hands, arms, feet, or legs
  5. chest pain or tightness
  6. chills
  7. constipation
  8. cough
  9. coughing up blood
  10. decrease in the amount of urine
  11. dizziness
  12. ear congestion
  13. fainting
  14. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  15. fever
  16. full or bloated feeling
  17. headache
  18. hoarseness
  19. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  20. loss of voice
  21. lower back or side pain
  22. noisy or rattling breathing
  23. nosebleeds
  24. painful or difficult urination
  25. pale skin
  26. paralysis
  27. pressure in the stomach
  28. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  29. red or dark brown urine
  30. runny or stuffy nose
  31. sensation of pins and needles
  32. severe stomach pain
  33. sneezing
  34. sore throat
  35. stabbing pain
  36. swelling of the stomach area
  37. swelling of the face, fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  38. trouble breathing
  39. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  40. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  41. unusual bleeding or bruising
  42. unusual tiredness or weakness
  43. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  44. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  45. weight gain

Less common

  1. Blue lips and fingernails
  2. chest discomfort
  3. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  4. difficult or fast breathing
  5. dilated neck veins
  6. increased sweating
  7. irregular breathing
  8. loss of appetite
  9. nausea
  10. stomach pain, severe
  11. swelling in the legs and ankles
  12. vomiting
  13. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. blurred vision
  4. cloudy or bloody urine
  5. diarrhea
  6. itching
  7. joint or muscle pain
  8. nervousness
  9. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  10. pounding in the ears
  11. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  12. red, irritated eyes
  13. sudden weakness in the arms or legs
  14. sudden, severe chest pain
  15. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bone pain
  2. cracked lips
  3. difficulty with moving
  4. difficulty with swallowing
  5. lack or loss of strength
  6. loss of appetite
  7. muscle aching, cramping, or stiffness
  8. pain
  9. skin rash
  10. stomach pain
  11. swollen joints
  12. vomiting
  13. weight loss
