1. Spinal Cord Injury Physical Activity Guidelines in Association with Health-Related and Psychosocial Outcomes

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine whether meeting the physical activity guidelines for cardiometabolic health is associated with positive health-related outcomes.

   Additionally to determine whether meeting the physical activity guidelines for cardiometabolic health is associated with positive psychosocial outcomes, and determine whether meeting the physical activity guidelines for cardiometabolic health is associated with greater social and occupational integration.  

2. Facet Joint Articular Cartilage and Disc and Endplate Cartilage Healthy and Degenerated Characterization

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine the biomechanical, biochemical, and histological properties of human spinal cartilage, in both healthy and degenerated patients, and to compare the properties among the different regions of the spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar).

3. A Study To Create A Registry Of Non-Fusion Spinal Deformity Correction In Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

   Minneapolis, Minn., Rochester, Minn.

   The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of non-fusion surgical treatment of Spinal Deformity Correction in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.

   The Post Approval Study (PAS) is gathering data on the Tether device and it's efficacy and safety.

4. Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery Real-World Functional Activity

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to measure objective functional activity and gait and trunk stability in spinal deformity patients utilizing motion analysis testing and accelerometers. This will provide real-world data and evidence in optimizing care for spinal deformity patients.

5. A Study to Survey Epidural User Experience for Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury Paralysis

   Rochester, Minn.

   This is a survey study to identify user-reported motor, sensory, and autonomic functions that are enabled by epidural stimulation, establish correlations between epidural stimulation usage, rehabilitation, functional gains, and user experience in the laboratory and community settings, and to understand and identify subjective goals, benefits, and barriers that still exist with implanted epidural stimulator community.

6. A Study to Evaluate Awake vs. Asleep Spine Surgery

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   Patients undergoing spine lumbar surgery will be asked to perform short exams/questionnaires aimed at determining cognitive function, quality of life, health outcomes twice post surgery with a baseline performance prior to surgery.

7. Primary Tumor Research And Outcome Network (PTRON) Registry

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this registry is to collect clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic data specific for primary spinal column tumor patients, and evaluate it to understand the predictive factors which influence survival, local recurrence, adverse events, perioperative morbidity, and health related quality of life.

8. Human Blood and Tissues Repository for Neuroscience Research

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to collect adult human blood, cerebrospinal fluid, brain, and spine tissues/fluids at time of surgery in order to conduct future studies of the cellular mechanisms of tissue invasion utilized by brain and spine tumors of the central nervous system (CNS).

9. Preserved Autonomic Function Following Spinal Cord Injury

   The purpose of this study is to characterize gradients of dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system after spinal cord injury.  

10. Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems For Minnesota Region (SCIMS)

    Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to contribute to the Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems (SCIMS) national database through longitudinal assessment of long-term health and psychosocial outcomes after acquired spinal cord injury (SCI).
