A Study to Evaluate Caregiver Connections via Technology for Patients with Alzheimer's and Other Types of Dementia Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to optimize profile questionnaire and matching algorithm developed in Phase I and implement in final website design, and to determine if algorithmically matched participants have statistically significant increase in match satisfaction and self-reported sense of resiliency and quality of life over randomly matched caregivers. Patterns of Co-use of Nicotine and Cannabis Electronic Cigarettes, and Its Association with Perceived Social Support in Young Adults Eau Claire, Wis. The purposes of this study are to determine the relationship between the use of e-cigarette and perceived social support in young adults, to characterize the pattern of co-use of nicotine and cannabis e-cigarette in young adults, and to identify if co-use of nicotine and cannabis e-cigarettes is a risk factor for use of combustible forms of tobacco and cannabis. A Study of Factors That Predispose, Promote, and Perpetuate Post-Traumatic Dizziness Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether recent, groundbreaking discoveries about key pathophysiologic processes that drive chronic dizziness in patients without traumatic brain injury (TBI9,10) are applicable to patients with post-mTBI vestibular disability. We expect the results of this project to have practical clinical and research applications, providing novel data for two future steps: NSITE: Novel Strategies to Increase Telehealth Engagement Eau Claire, Wis., Rochester, Minn. The primary objective of Aim 1 of this study are to identify personal and social determinant of health-related key factors that present as a barriers to use of non-emergent telehealth care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aim 1 will use a qualitative study design to understand the experiences of patients along with social determinants of health (SDOH). The results of the qualitative work will be used by the research team to design the survey for administration in Aim 2. The primary objectgive of Aim 2 of this study is to assess personal and social determinants of health that are associated with patient’s decision to prefer face-to-face visits compared with telehealth appointments for non-emergent care. Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC-001) Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. There is evidence that neurodegenerative changes precede clinical symptoms in Alzheimer’s disease by two decades (Villemagne et al, 2013). Early detection is critical for development of interventions to halt, slow, or even reverse these pathological processes. The promise of plasma biomarkers to identify early pathology is growing rapidly (Palmqvist et al, 2020), however it is likely that multiple converging biomarkers will be necessary to identify the earliest pathological changes, as subtle differences from healthy controls may fall within the margin of error for any given single biomarker measure. Here we propose that the evaluation of speech and language for both baseline (cross-sectional) and longitudinal changes (within-participant) may add significant value to early pre-clinical pathological changes in MCI and AD. This is bolstered by emerging evidence of the relationship between language characteristics and amyloid burden (Verfaillie et al, 2019) and the large literature that characterizes language-use differences and deficits across the spectrum of cognitive decline (e.g., Mueller et al, 2018). We propose to add a series of in-clinic language elicitation tasks that allow for automated assessment of relevant speech and language domains and to validate these measures cross-sectionally and longitudinally relevant to neuropsychological, blood, and PET biomarkers. Magnetic Resonance Elastography of Dementia Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to develop and test the effectiveness of an investigational imaging technique called magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) to measure the stiffness (mechanical properties) of tissues. A Study to Evaluate a Primary Care-Based Intervention for Adolescent Restrictive Eating Disorders Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility, acceptability, usability, and preliminary outcomes of a treatment protocol (FBT-PC) for PCP management of adolescent restrictive eating disorders. Advanced Care Planning in Dementia Jacksonville, Fla. The goal of this study is to gain a better understanding of the status of advanced care planning among caregivers of patients with dementia and examine how this differs by race and disease stage. A Study Evaluating the Prevalence, Incidence and Predictors for Development of the Impulse Control Disorders in Patients with Prolactinomas Treated with Dopamine Agonist Therapy Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to establish incidence and prevalence of Impulse Control Disorders (ICDs) in patients with prolactinomas treated with dopamine agonists (DA), to determine the predictors of ICD development, and to establish a predictor scoring system that could be subsequently validated and applied prior to initiation of DA. 8 Week Multi-site Study of MYDAYIS® for Bipolar Depression Rochester, Minn., Eau Claire, Wis., Austin, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness and safety of MYDAYIS® as an augmentation agent for bipolar depression.
