Dr. Strand is currently Associate Chair, Division of Community Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine and leads Palliative Care efforts throughout Rochester. In addition, Dr. Strand serves as Chair, Enterprise Palliative Care Specialty Council and is Associate Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Sciences.

Dr. Strand's clinical work is centered in the outpatient Palliative Care Clinic, working with patients and their families on managing pain and enhancing quality of life for those with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Dr. Strand's clinical research interests center around the integration of palliative care into the care of patients with cancer & in deploying machine learning solutions for patient identification & the scalable deployment of palliative care interventions.
