  • Expertise and experience. Mayo Clinic specialists in psychiatry and psychology have extensive experience and expertise in treating depression. A team of mental health providers works with you to set goals, develop a customized treatment plan and monitor your progress. More than 20,000 people with a diagnosis of depression are seen at Mayo each year.
  • Latest diagnostic and treatment options. Your treatment may include antidepressants, talk therapy (psychotherapy) or other therapies. Mayo Clinic sometimes uses the cytochrome P450 test, which may help determine how your genes might affect your response to and ability to tolerate various antidepressant drugs.
