The purpose of this study is to investigate the value of ultrasound microvessel imaging for evaluation of transplant kidney health. A Study to Better Understand Why Patients Gain Weight After Undergoing Liver Transplantation Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to understanding the mechanisms of weight gain in patients following liver transplantation, action, and indicate approaches to prevent weight gain. Authorizaton to Use Clincially Obtained Data for Research Rochester, Minn. This study is being done to gather information regarding your health in relation to your composite tissue transplant. We would like to use your medical records (both existing and future) to study the health of patients who will receive or have received a composite tissue transplant. This research would include looking at your demographic information, cause of initial injury, laboratory test results and medical exams relating to your pre and post transplant care, and your mental well-being before and after transplant. Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole Graded Administration in Oncology, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant, and Solid Organ Transplant Patients with a History of Sulfonamide Allergy Rochester, Minn. The aim of this study is to study the efficacy and safety of our short and long one-day protocols for TMP-SMX graded administration in hematologic malignancy, hematopoietic stem cell transplant, and solid organ transplant patients. A Study To Evaluate The Role Of Gut Microbiome In Cancer Therapy Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to correlate gut microbiome with specific cancer diagnoses and the clinical response (effectiveness), and adverse effects of cancer therapy (single or multiple) and stem cell transplant. The purpose of this study is to report the proportion of thiamine deficiency (as defined by the Mayo Clinic Laboratory reference range) in liver transplant patients. A Study of In Vitro Mapping of Cardiac Tissue Obtained from Patients with Refractory Arrhythmias who Underwent Heart Transplant or Replacement with Mechanical Heart Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to obtain electro-anatomic maps of human myocardium in sinus rhythm and ventricular arrhythmias to identify activation patterns, identify and perform tissue ablation at targeted sites of interest that could play an important trigger for development of arrhythmias, and to perform histologic analysis of the myocardial tissue to identify triggers and/or targets for therapies to terminate ventricular arrhythmias. APOL1 Long-term Kidney Transplantation Outcomes Network (APOLLO) Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to attempt to improve outcomes after kidney transplantation and to improve the safety of living kidney donation based upon variation in the apolipoprotein L1 gene (APOL1). Genes control what is inherited from a family, such as eye color or blood type. Variation in APOL1 can cause kidney disease. African Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, Hispanic Blacks, and Africans are more likely to have the APOL1 gene variants that cause kidney disease. APOLLO will test DNA from kidney donors and recipients of kidney transplants for APOL1 to determine effects on kidney transplant-related outcomes.
