Dr. Riutort comes to Mayo Clinic Florida after nine years in private practice anesthesia in Denver, Colorado. While in private practice he served as the Chief of Service at US Anesthesia Partners Colorado, Chair of Anesthesia for Sky Ridge Medical Center, and a number of other leadership roles. He has a master's degree in mechanical engineering and worked in the automotive industry as well as the aerospace space industry at Nasa Langley Research Center. He attended Virginia Tech undergraduate and graduate engineering schools, Georgetown Medical School, and completed his residency at Mayo Clinic Florida where he was chief resident. He currently co-authors the chapter on anesthesia machines for Barash's Clinical Anesthesia and has published papers on a range of topics including airway management, congenital malformations, and regional anesthesia. At Mayo Clinic Florida he will be joining both the neuroanesthesia and liver transplant anesthesia sections.
