Biographical summary
Tuhama Rihani, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has specialized in hospital medicine since 2014, with a dedicated focus on nocturnist care since 2019. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, where she is actively involved in clinical care and medical education.
Dr. Rihani completed both her undergraduate and medical education at the University of New Mexico and her internal medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After working in non-academic settings, her commitment to teaching brought her to Mayo Clinic Hospital, where she works closely with family medicine and internal medicine residents.
In addition to her role as an educator, Dr. Rihani mentors international students pursuing medical careers in the United States. Her clinical interests include nocturnist medicine and improving education and care practices during overnight hospital coverage. She also serves as co-director of the first international hospitalist conference, which aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen global hospital medicine.
