Horatiu Olteanu, M.D., Ph.D., is a Hematopathologist, with specialty interest in bone marrow disorders. His clinical focus includes:

  • Applications of flow cytometric immunophenotyping in the diagnosis and prognosis of hematologic malignancies.
  • Morphologic, genetic, and molecular diagnosis of bone marrow failure syndromes.
  • Bone marrow diagnosis of chronic myeloid neoplasms, such as myelodysplastic syndromes and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.
  • Minimal residual disease assessment in multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, and B lymphoblastic leukemia.
  • Evaluation of artificial intelligence for flow cytometric immunophenotyping.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Olteanu is active in research and education, has a strong interest in continuing and professional development, and volunteers for several national and international professional societies in this area. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and abstracts on topics in hematopathology and flow cytometry, and lectured at national and international pathology meetings.
