Omar Elmadhoun, M.D., M.P.H.

Omar Elmadhoun, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor and Consultant in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Elmadhoun trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic and holds a master's degree in health policy and management from Harvard University.

His clinical and academic work focuses on cardiovascular critical care, with particular interests in pulmonary embolism, ECMO and mechanical circulatory support, and heart and lung transplantation. He has co-led the development of multidisciplinary clinical pathways in pulmonary embolism and advanced mechanical circulatory support and serves as Associate Program Director for the Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Elmadhoun chairs the Critical Care Finance Committee, where he leads financial strategy across Mayo Clinic's multidisciplinary critical care practice. His broader interests include healthcare innovation, strategic partnerships, and industry collaboration focused on evaluating and advancing emerging technologies in critical care.
