Practising privileges at Mayo Clinic Healthcare London
Working with world leading specialists in London
Mayo Clinic Healthcare London welcomes applications from experienced consultants who wish to apply for practising privileges to deliver outpatient clinics and related services within our London facility.
As part of the Mayo Clinic global practice, we are committed to the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety, governance and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Practising privileges are the formal authorisation granted by Mayo Clinic Healthcare London that allow a consultant to provide specific clinical services within our facilities. These privileges define the scope of practice, ensuring that all clinical activity aligns with our governance framework, Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and Mayo Clinic standards of care.
Holding practising privileges allows consultants to:
- Conduct outpatient clinics
- Refer patients for diagnostic investigations
- Work collaboratively with Mayo Clinic multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver care in a fully regulated, clinically governed environment
We consider applications from UK-based and internationally trained consultants who meet our eligibility criteria, including:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or relevant professional regulator)
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (where applicable)
- A substantive NHS consultant appointment within the last five years or equivalent overseas experience
- Evidence of appropriate professional indemnity cover
- A strong commitment to clinical governance, audit and continuous professional development
Each application is assessed on an individual basis, taking into account experience, specialty demand and alignment with Mayo Clinic Healthcare London services.
Consultants with practising privileges benefit from:
- Association with Mayo Clinic, a globally recognised leader in clinical excellence
- Access to state-of-the-art outpatient facilities in central London
- A highly experienced clinical, nursing and operational support team
