1. A Study to Evaluate Prevalence of Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency in Patients with Chronic Pain

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the hormonal profile related to opioed induced adrenal insufficency (OIAI) in chronic pain patients that completed the 3-weeks Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitaion Program (IPRP) at the Pain Rehabilitation Center (PRC) at Mayo Clinic / Florida.

2. A Study to Compare Medical and Non-Medical Coping on Functional Outcomes and Caregiver Burden Among Liver Transplant Patients

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to compare functional improvement and caregiver burden pre- and post-liver transplant (LT) in four patient and patient’s primary caregiver dyads, grouped, based on presence or absence of mood symptoms pre-LT.

3. A Study to Evaluate the Safety, Tolerability and Effectiveness of V117957 in Subjects with Insomnia Associated with Alcohol Cessation

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and effectiveness of V117957, compared to placebo, in subjects with alcohol use disorder (AUD) who experience insomnia associated with alcohol cessation.

4. A Study to Analyse the Genetic Makeup of Those with Opioid and Substance Use Disorders

   Rochester, Minn., Albert Lea, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to establish an opioid and multiple addiction (OMA) biobank that creates a comprehensive standard patient phenotype using standardized subjective assessments and objective behavioral measurements for future research. 

5. Evaluating Patterns of and Changes in Hair Cortisol Levels in Pediatric Patients With Chronic Pain

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate patterns of and changes in secretion levels of the stress hormone, cortisol and other steroid hormones (i.e. DHEA, testosterone, progesterone) from hair samples of 150 pediatric patients with chronic pain and a parent or caregiver upon admission and at 3 and 6 months after participation in Mayo Clinic’s intensive, interdisciplinary pediatric pain treatment program.

    

6. Study of Potential VCA Candidates', Caregivers' and Providers' Motivations, Expectations and Shared Decision-making in VCA

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine, through in-depth interviews, the motivations, values, preferences, and expectations of VCA candidates and their caregivers.

7. Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Treatment Outcomes for Chronic Noncancer Pain

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of the study is to learn more about adolescent and young adults' experience with chronic pain. In particular, we are studying factors which lead to pain-associated disability and factors which predict decreased disability during and after participation in a three-week intensive treatment program. In addition to gathering information from the young people with chronic pain, parents are also asked to give their perspective.
