   The purpose of this study is to contribute to the Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems (SCIMS) national database through longitudinal assessment of long-term health and psychosocial outcomes after acquired spinal cord injury (SCI). 

    

    

3. The Effects of Prophylactic Limited Palmar Fasciectomy on Surgical Outcomes and Scarring

   Rochester, Minn.

   Research is instrumental for improving medical care and the patient experience. Finding new surgical techniques can create better outcomes and minimize recovery time and complications for patients. Some patients undergoing trigger finger surgery with a pre-existing Dupuytren's cord may develop a thickened surgical scar after surgery, which can cause discomfort, difficulty with moving or using, and other complications in the affected finger(s) or hand. The investigator is investigating a surgical technique to minimize these potential complications and scarring after surgery. Subjects are being asked to take part in this research study because they have been diagnosed with trigger finger and pretendinous Dupuytren's cord and have decided to undergo surgery rather than try medical treatment.

   The purpose of this study is to characterize gradients of dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system after spinal cord injury.  

5. A Study to Evaluate A Patient's Perception of Indwelling Foley Catheters Following Total Hip or Total Knee Arthroplasty

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the orthopedic patients’ perspective on the use of indwelling foley catheters.

6. Postoperative Oral Tranexamic Acid in Patients Undergoing Primary Total Joint Arthroplasty

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of an extended oral TXA regimen on patient reported outcome scores, time to independent ambulation, postoperative range of motion, swelling, change in hemoglobin levels, 90-day complications, readmission and reoperation.

7. Thoracotomy Versus Thoracoscopic Management Of Pulmonary Metastases In Patients With Osteosarcoma

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine if open surgical resection is superior to thoracoscopic resection for thoracic event-free survival (tEFS) in patients with resectable oligometastatic pulmonary osteosarcoma.

   Furthermore, to determine if open surgical resection is superior to thoracoscopy for event free survival (EFS), for overall survival (OS), and if thoracoscopy is superior to open surgical resection for postoperative pain interference in patients with resectable oligometastatic pulmonary osteosarcoma.

8. A Study to Measure Elbow and Ankle Range-of-Motion via Teleconferencing

   The purpose of this study is to assess the validity and reliability of teleconferencing measurements for elbow and ankle joint range of motion (ROM).

9. A Study to Evaluate Photon Counting Detector CT Utility in Identifying Acute Wrist Fractures.

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to examine the ability of PCD-CT to (1) display subtle fractures of the wrist using the system’s increased spatial resolution compared to conventional wrist CT and MR; and (2)  evaluate the ability of PCD-CT with virtual non-calcium images to identify bone marrow edema at acute fracture sites.

    

10. Brachial plexus patients undergoing upper limb amputation

    The purpose of this study is to follow Mayo Clinic patients with severe brachial plexus injuries who underwent upper limb amputation.
