VHL is a disorder characterized by multiple tumors, which can be cancerous or noncancerous. Hemangioblastomas of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) are some of most common tumors found in VHL. Other tumors include pheochromocytomas, and cysts in the kidney and pancreas. The most common cancerous tumors found in people with VHL are clear cell renal carcinomas and neuroendocrine pancreatic tumors.
