Dominique J. Monlezun, M.D., Ph.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., is a Mayo Clinic physician-data scientist and AI ethicist, inaugural Associate Program Director for AI in Medicine/Ethics & Governance (Department of Cardiovascular Medicine), and member of the consultant staff (Division of Hospital Internal Medicine). After obtaining his MD, Dr. Monlezun earned his first AI-focused PhD in Global Health Management & Policy, followed by his second AI-focused PhD in Global Bioethics. He dedicated his first years after training to providing medical care for the underserved rural Louisiana communities which raised him. In his clinical practice, he cares for hospitalized adults with a wide range of acute health conditions with a particular focus in cardio-oncology. In his teaching, Dr. Monlezun serves as a professor of medicine for multiple academic American institutions and Professor of Bioethics for two UNESCO-affiliated universities for graduate students especially from low- and middle-income countries in Africa, Asia, and South America, in addition to the Chief for the Section of Statistics & Ethics (Interventional Onco-cardiology Society) and Chief Data Scientist (Global System Analytics & Structures). In his research, he co-founded the preventive cardiology field of culinary medicine, created QBAM-PS statistics (Quantum Bayesian Machine learning-augmented Propensity Score) and Personalist Social Contract ethics (within AiCE or AI-driven Computational Ethical and policy analysis), served as the Principal Investigator for over 100 cohort and randomized controlled trials internationally, and authored over 420 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations in addition to 7 textbooks advancing global AI-driven and human-centered improvements in population health, policy, and ethics.
