Biographical summary
Katherine E. Mallett, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Her clinical practice is dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients undergoing primary and revision total joint arthroplasty, with expertise in:
- Primary total hip arthroplasty
- Primary total knee arthroplasty
- Revision total hip arthroplasty
- Revision total knee arthroplasty
- Periprosthetic joint infection
- Femoral and acetabular bone loss reconstruction
- Arthrofibrosis and stiffness after total knee arthroplasty
Dr. Mallett's research interests include implant design and fixation, surface finish and biomechanics, developmental dysplasia of the hip, and perioperative optimization. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has received national recognition for her work, including the Frank E. Stinchfield, M.D. Award from The Hip Society, the Philip D. Wilson, M.D. Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery Research from the Hospital for Special Surgery, and the Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Surgery Clinical Excellence and Research Awards.
