Aliya Gulamhusein, M.D., cares for people with complex liver conditions as a specialist in gastroenterology and hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and from all around the world. Dr. Gulamhusein has expertise in managing autoimmune liver diseases, chronic liver disease, and care before and after liver transplantation. In addition, she performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures while supporting patients and families through every stage of care.

She completed her medical degree at the University of Western Ontario, internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Toronto, and advanced fellowship in transplant hepatology at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Gulamhusein also holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is board-certified by the Canadian Royal College.
