Andrew P. Adamczyk, M.D., MSc, FRCSC, is an Orthopedic Surgeon with fellowship training in both Orthopedic Trauma and Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. He is currently a Senior Associate Consultant at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

Dr. Adamczyk grew up and trained in Canada before settling in Arizona. He completed Medical School, Orthopedic Residency and his Hip and Knee Arthroplasty fellowship at the University of Ottawa, followed by an AO Orthopedic Trauma and Lower Extremity Reconstruction fellowship at Sunnybrook Hospital at the University of Toronto, Canada's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center.

Dr. Adamczyk's unique combination of trauma and joint reconstruction training allows him to care for patients with both acute injuries and complex problems involving previous joint replacement. His clinical practice focuses on:

  • Fractures of the lower and upper extremity
  • Pelvic and Acetabular Fractures
  • Periprosthetic Fractures around hip and knee replacements
  • Geriatric fractures and reconstruction following traumatic injuries
  • Technology (robotic) assisted total and partial knee replacement
  • Muscle Sparing Anterior Approach Total Hip Arthroplasty
  • Primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty

In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Adamczyk's research focuses on improving outcomes following orthopedic trauma and joint replacement, with a particular interest in pelvic and acetabular injuries, complex reconstruction, infection prevention, robotic and technology assisted surgery, and optimizing recovery after surgery. His work had also examined ways to improve the safety, efficiency and value of surgical care while helping patients recover mobility and return to the activities that are important to them.
