Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blindness
  2. blurred vision
  3. confusion
  4. constipation
  5. decreased vision
  6. depression
  7. difficulty in breathing
  8. dry eye
  9. dry mouth
  10. eyelash changes
  11. headache
  12. incoherent speech
  13. increased urination
  14. irregular heartbeats
  15. loss of appetite
  16. metallic taste
  17. mood or mental changes
  18. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  19. muscle weakness
  20. nausea
  21. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  22. redness, swelling, or itching of the eyelid
  23. redness, swelling, pain, or ulceration of the skin
  24. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  25. seizures
  26. stomach cramps
  27. thirst
  28. tingling of the hands and feet
  29. tremor
  30. unusual tiredness
  31. vomiting
  32. weight loss

Less common

  1. Chills
  2. cough or hoarseness
  3. dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
  4. dry mouth
  5. fast heartbeat
  6. fever or chills
  7. lower back or side pain
  8. painful or difficult urination
  9. rapid, shallow breathing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bloody nose
  4. change in taste
  5. decreased weight
  6. diarrhea
  7. difficulty in moving
  8. dry skin
  9. hair loss, thinning of hair
  10. heartburn
  11. indigestion
  12. lack or loss strength
  13. loss of taste
  14. muscle pain or stiffness
  15. pain in the arms or legs
  16. pain in the joints
  17. redness or soreness around the fingernails or loosening of the fingernails
  18. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  19. swelling of the hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  20. swelling or inflammation of the mouth

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
